A Cozy Retreat at Coffee & Plant in Nairobi

A Cozy Retreat at Coffee & Plant in Nairobi

Last Saturday afternoon, I decided to visit Coffee & Plant, located on General Mathenge Road, Nairobi. As soon as I stepped inside, I was enveloped by a warm and inviting atmosphere that promised a delightful experience. The café was bustling yet comfortably arranged, allowing for private conversations—the perfect setting for both casual meet-ups and peaceful retreats.

As a plant-based eater, I was drawn to their extensive menu. I couldn’t resist trying their highly recommended mocha and the Hug in a Mug. The mocha was a symphony of flavor, an inviting blend of rich coffee and velvety chocolate that left me craving more. The Hug in a Mug was equally comforting, warming me from the inside out. Both drinks reinforced my decision to make this place a regular stop for my caffeine fix.

During my visit, I was also impressed by the variety of gluten-free desserts on display. Many reviewers have raved about the vegan cheese and butter options, which are a rare find in Nairobi. In particular, the za’atar cashew cheese caught my eye and I've earmarked it for my next visit. After enjoying my drinks, I felt compelled to explore their breakfast offerings, especially since I had heard about their wonderful options for vegetarians and vegans. The food truly did have a fresh and vibrant taste; I felt like I was nourishing my body with every bite.

What also stood out to me was the service. My waiter, though I didn’t catch his name, was incredibly friendly and attentive. It was refreshing to see such attentive staff who genuinely cared about their customers' experiences. There was even a moment when a guest near me mentioned not liking their spiced coffee, and without any hesitation, the staff replaced it at no extra charge. It’s these little touches that make a place truly special.

The café today is not just another stop for coffee and pastries; it embodies a sustainable dining experience. They prioritize using local, high-quality ingredients, which I can wholeheartedly appreciate. For a place that is both flavorful and filling, the prices felt like a steal! I left feeling satiated and well cared for, having spent a blissful afternoon at this gem.

In conclusion, if you're looking for a cozy spot in Nairobi to enjoy superb coffee and plant-based cuisine, look no further than Coffee & Plant. With an inviting atmosphere, excellent service, and a menu that both delights and nourishes, I can see why so many praise this café. I am already looking forward to my next visit!
