Visiting the Open Heart Foundation in Bungoma, Kenya, was an experience that warmed my soul. I swung by in the afternoon, hoping to contribute to a cause that truly makes a difference. The foundation is not just a place; it’s a lifeline for many children in need.
I learned about their initiative, Help the Children of Open Heart Kenya Orphanage. This remarkable campaign has been set up to sponsor an orphanage and school that caters to over 65 children, providing necessities like clean drinking water, daily meals, housing, and school supplies. Knowing that the foundation spends around $450 a month on basic needs was eye-opening!
Not only was I impressed by the mission, but the service I received was equally heart-touching! Richard Railey, one of the dedicated attendants, was incredibly welcoming. He took the time to explain the various programs the foundation runs and how each contribution impacts the children’s lives. His passion for the cause was inspiring!
During my visit, I was also able to see some of the supplies that the children utilize, such as textbooks and health services like first aid kits. The transparent operations and genuine care for each child made my decision to donate even easier.
The Open Heart Foundation’s campaign aims to gather support through donations, and when you think about the value your contribution brings to the lives of these children, it feels like an investment in their future rather than just a charity. I felt so good knowing that every dollar counts.
Looking at the pictures of happy children on their campaign page, it struck me how vital our support can be. The impact is far-reaching, enabling the children not only to survive but thrive in a nurturing environment.
If you are ever in Kenya, make sure to visit the Open Heart Foundation. The warmth of the community, the dedication of the staff like Richard, and the opportunity to make a transformative difference is something everyone should experience. Thank you, Open Heart Foundation, for the incredible work you do. I left feeling like I had gained so much more than I had given!
