I've always been a lover of West African cuisine, so when I heard about Mama Ashanti Waterfront located in Kuwinda Langata, Nairobi, I knew I had to give it a try. Last Saturday, I visited this gem around 7 PM, and I must say, it was one of the best culinary experiences I've had this year!
Walking into the restaurant, I was immediately enveloped by the warm, inviting ambiance and the tantalizing aromas wafting from the kitchen. The decor radiated a unique blend of traditional West African elements, making one feel right at home. I was greeted by the lovely Grace Murage, our waitress for the night. Her cheerful demeanor and professionalism made me feel instantly welcome!
For starters, we went for the Mild Spicy Chicken Wings. They were cooked to perfection—crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, just like they should be, complemented perfectly with an enticing dipping sauce. My friends and I couldn’t get enough of them! Following the wings, I savored the restaurant’s celebrated Jollof Spaghetti as my main course. The flavors were incredible; it was a true reflection of West African culinary traditions. Each bite was a masterpiece that captured the essence of home-cooked meals.
Grace was impeccable throughout our visit. She ensured that our tea was warmed promptly, and she made sure our meal was served at the perfect time, allowing us to enjoy everything leisurely. It’s no wonder other diners praised her exceptional service as well. "Grace, our server was excellent and very hospitable," one patron remarked, and I wholeheartedly agree!
The atmosphere was buzzing with the laughter and chatter of satisfied customers, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Also, I couldn't resist trying the Grilled Fish with Rice and Spinach Sauce from the menu. This dish was another highlight; the fish was flaky and beautifully seasoned, making every bite a testament to the restaurant’s commitment to quality ingredients.
Every dish we tried was not only delicious but also served in generous portions that provided excellent value for money. Even others at nearby tables were raving about their meals; a couple beside us boasted about the Burger and Fries they ordered, saying it was a fulfilling and delightful eat!
As we concluded our meal, I couldn’t help but notice how the management has created a welcoming environment. They even had a face painting artist keeping the children entertained, which added a lovely touch. It was evident that they truly understand the importance of customer service.
With everything considered, I wholeheartedly recommend Mama Ashanti Waterfront. Whether you're a local or just passing through Kuwinda Langata, a visit here is a must for anyone wanting to experience the vibrant and delicious culture of West Africa. Thank you, Mama Ashanti, for a night filled with love, laughter, and authentic flavors. I'll definitely be coming back!
