Discovering Mis: A Hidden Gem in Nairobi for Delicious Tapas

As I stepped into Mis, a charming tapas merchant located in the heart of Nairobi, I was immediately struck by the vibrant atmosphere. The local art on the walls and faint chatter in the background set a perfect scene for an intimate dining experience. I visited during the early evening, around 6 PM, which was the perfect time to enjoy their extensive tapas menu with friends.

I ordered the Patatas Bravas for Ksh 450, a crowd favorite according to reviews. The crispy potatoes were seasoned to perfection, and the accompanying spicy aioli added just the right amount of kick. I could see why visitors raved about this dish! The flavors reminded me of my last trip to Spain, and I found myself savoring every bite. It was not just food; it was a memory relived.

Next up was the Gambas al Ajillo, priced at Ksh 800. The shrimp, sautéed in garlic and olive oil, was succulent and bursting with flavor. I couldn’t resist mentioning my wonderful waiter, Daniel, who not only recommended this dish but also shared stories about its origins in Spanish cuisine. His attentive service made my experience even more special, and I truly appreciated his enthusiasm for the menu.

Lastly, I couldn’t resist their Chorizo al Vino, available for Ksh 600. This delectable blend of chorizo cooked in wine was a hit at the table, and the hearty flavors were complemented well by the crunchy bread that came alongside. Each dish was not only delicious but also reasonably priced, which made indulging in several options easy.

The atmosphere was lively yet relaxing, perfect for unwinding after a long day. As I enjoyed my tapas, I couldn’t help but notice the diverse crowd, from local Nairobians to tourists eager to experience authentic tapas.

If you’re in Nairobi and looking for a place that offers incredible food without breaking the bank, I highly recommend Mis. With a selection of affordable tapas and friendly service, it truly stands out as one of Nairobi’s hidden gems. Make sure to say hello to Daniel when you visit; his recommendations will enhance your meal significantly!
