What is Tappi?
Tappi is a mobile app solution that allows you to find customers online, engage them and build your business reputation. With Tappi, you can:
- Get a free website and SEO marketing to make your business visible online.
- Create ads (advertisements) in three quick steps and post to Facebook & Instagram.
- Get SMS and online reviews from customers.

How do I know what to do after registering my business on the application?
You find the following pages and its corresponding features:
- Home (located at the bottom of your screen): This page is titled “My Business”. It contains three sections which are:
- About: This allows you view information about your business (business name, rating, about) and the key features on the app on your website which includes:
- - Create Ads: create Ads that will be displayed on Facebook(Meta) and Instagram.
- - Send Offers: Send business offers to your active customers.
- - Share Business Website: Share your business link on social media or copy and share your business profile link.
- Request Payment: Request payment from your customers
- Share Webpage: Share your website link on social media or copy and share your business profile link
- Photos: This allows you to upload product photos and descriptions for your website.
- Insights: This allows you to view the stats of how well your Ad performed.
- Total Reach: The number of “People Reached”, the “Engagements” with the Ad, and the “Engagement Rate” of the Ad.
- Business web page: The “Total views” of your business page, the “Total Users” who visited your business page and also, the “New Users” who have visited your business page.
- About: This allows you view information about your business (business name, rating, about) and the key features on the app on your website which includes:
- Ads Campaigns (located at the bottom of your screen): This page allows you to create Meta Ads that will be displayed on Facebook and Instagram to help you reach more customers. You can find the stats of your previous, current and pending campaigns.
- Customers (located at the bottom of your screen): You can, click on::
- Customers: To “Import your contacts” to Tappi from your phone contacts to help build your customer network
- Reviews: Request reviews and respond to reviews on your website business profile.
- My Account: This section gives you access to your Tappi account profile, your account subscriptions, and support materials such as FAQs and contact information.
How can I edit or update my business profile?
- Click on “My Account” which is at the bottom right of your tappi app.
- Click on “Profile”
- Go ahead and make your desired changes.
- When you are done making those changes, click on “Save” which is at the top right corner of your Tappi app.
How do I upload a profile photo for my business profile?
- On the home screen, ensure the About tab is highlighted in blue at the top of the screen.
- If no profile image has been uploaded, you will find a square frame with a camera placeholder icon, simply tap on it and it should take you to the photo upload page where you can upload a photo from your phone.
- If you currently have an image uploaded as a profile photo, simply tap the image and you will be taken to the photo upload image where you can update your profile photo.
How do I upload a cover photo for my business profile?
- On the home screen, ensure the About tab is highlighted in blue at the top of the screen.
- If no cover image has been uploaded, you will find a large rectangular frame with a camera placeholder icon, simply tap on it and it should take you to the photo upload page where you can upload a photo from your phone.
- If you currently have an image uploaded as a cover photo, and want to update the image, simply tap the image on the larger rectangular frame and you will be taken to the photo upload page where you can update your profile photo.
How do I create and post an advert?
- On the home screen, select Create Ads.
- Select “Reach more customers” as the default goal for the ad.
- Edit your location details and duration of the ads on the “Define your audience” page .
- On the “Design Your Ad” page, add your image, ad description and if available, your business’ Instagram handle and click continue.
- Review your ad details then proceed to make payments.
Where will my ads be visible?
Your ads will be visible on Facebook and Instagram audiences i.e Facebook News Feed, Instagram Feed, Facebook Marketplace, Facebook Video Feeds, Facebook Right Column,Instagram Explore, Messenger Inbox, Facebook Stories, Instagram Stories, Messenger Stories, Facebook In-stream videos.
How long will my advertisement run?
Your advertisement will run based on the dates selected while setting up an ad. Therefore, on the “Define Your Audience” page, while creating an ad, find “Duration” and click on the Edit icon on the far right. Fill in the number of days or dates you want your ad to run.
How much does it cost to advertise my business on Tappi?
To advertise on Tappi, you will incur a daily charge of $2 but in your local currency to reach at least 10,000 customers per day.
How can I track how my ad is performing?
Tap on the Ads Campaign icon available on the bottom tab menu. A page will pop up with your recent ads and their respective status including how they are performing. A follow up SMS notification will be shared regarding how your ads are performing.
Can I edit / delete my ad once it is created?
This feature is currently unavailable, however you can contact us through Call or WhatsApp to offer support.
How long does it take for my Ad to be reviewed?
Your ad will be reviewed within 24hrs once it’s created. Afterwards, you will receive a notification informing you whether your ad has been approved or not. If it takes longer than this, please contact us on WhatsApp.
Why has my Ad been rejected?
There are many reasons why your ad may be rejected which include:
- Your ad is against the Facebook Community Guidelines such as ads promoting:
- Illegal products or services.
- Tobacco-related items.
- Drug-related ads.
- Weapons and ammunition.
- Adult content with nudity or suggestive imaging.
- Misinformation or sensational content.
- Profane or grammatically poor content.
- Ads with malware.
- Ads promoting predatory business practices, like multi level marketing.
- Discriminatory content e.g content supporting racism or tribalism
- Ads that use Facebook brand assets.
- Ads that infringe on copyrights or trademarks.
- Using phone screenshots or screengrabs as part of the image.
- Ads requesting sensitive information like criminal history, health, or sexual orientation.
- Ads with poor positioning, like inaccurate product descriptions or irrelevant images.
- Restricted content for certain locals and individuals, like with cryptocurrencies, social issues, or pharmaceutical drugs.
What happens if my Ad is rejected?
Once your ad is rejected, we will share a notification offering an explanation to the status. A link to talk with one of our agents will then be shared to guide you on how to create another one.
Will I receive a refund if my Ad is rejected?
We advise merchants to first try setting up a complimentary ad with the guidance of our support team. However, if the merchant is not interested with the latter, contact our WhatsApp support to facilitate the refund.
Can I receive a refund while my Ad is running?
No. Refunds are only available to merchants whose ad has been rejected or still in review for more than 24 hrs.
How many contacts can I add from my phone book to Tappi?
There is no limit to the number of contacts added. Hence you can constantly add your customer contact list straight to Tappi.
Will my customer contacts be safe on Tappi?
Yes, Tappi adheres to international data protection laws and therefore we do not interfere with your customer database details. The contacts uploaded are also available even if you uninstall and reinstall the app on another device.

How do I request reviews from my customers?
- On the home screen, you will find a menu at the top of the screen, just below the page title “My Business”, ensuring the “About” tab is highlighted. If it is not simply tap it
- Find the Share Business button besides the Create Ad and Create Offer button.
- Tap the Share Business button and a pop up menu containing your business profile page link appears.
- You can either copy the link and share with customers or use the social media options displayed at the bottom of the pop up menu.
Can I respond to reviews?
Yes, in the review tab on the home screen, you will find all the reviews. Tap the review you wish to respond to and you will be presented with a pop up dialog box where you will find a reply option.
