Delightful Mediterranean Escape at Kalamata Restaurant & Bar in Nairobi

Last Saturday, I had the pleasure of dining at Kalamata Restaurant & Bar in Nairobi, and I must say, it was an experience that exceeded my expectations. Nestled in a cozy corner of the city, Kalamata blends rustic charm with Mediterranean flair, offering an inviting atmosphere that is perfect for a relaxed al-fresco meal.

Upon arrival, I was warmly greeted by the friendly staff, and our server, James, was particularly noteworthy for his attentiveness and genuine enthusiasm for the menu. He guided us through the offerings with such passion that it made our decision-making almost delightful!

We decided to start our meal with the Bruschetta for 500 KES. The moment it arrived at our table, I knew we were in for a treat. The bread was perfectly toasted, topped with juicy tomatoes and fragrant basil, all drizzled with a balsamic reduction. Every bite was a burst of freshness that transported me straight to the heart of the Mediterranean.

For my main course, I chose the Grilled Chicken Souvlaki for 1,200 KES, while my dining companion opted for the Seafood Paella. The souvlaki was superbly marinated, grilled to perfection, and served with a side of fragrant rice and a tangy tzatziki sauce that complemented the dish wonderfully. The portions were generous, and I left feeling satisfied without going overboard.

The Seafood Paella also caught my attention; it was vibrant and showed off a rainbow of colors from the fresh seafood and vegetables nestled within. My buddy raved about the bold flavors and how every forkful was like a melody of tastes—a truly Mediterranean delight!

As the sun began to set, we decided to order a dessert. The server recommended the Tiramisu, which we couldn't resist at just 600 KES. This classic Italian dessert was rich and creamy, with just the right amount of coffee flavor to round off our meal.

Throughout our visit, the atmosphere was relaxed and joyful, filled with the sounds of laughter and clinking glasses. I appreciated the attention to detail, from the charming décor to the vibrant plant life surrounding the outdoor seating. It really sets the scene for a delightful dining experience.

Overall, my visit to Kalamata Restaurant & Bar was nothing short of fantastic. The combination of fresh, wholesome dishes and the warm, welcoming environment made it the perfect dining location in Nairobi. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking to indulge in some authentic Mediterranean flavors!
